Hours say open until 5pm Arrived at 4:30pm Clinic next door said they have been closed since 2pm Extremely frustrating

This clinic is absolutely amazing and the staff is incredible!

T F.★★★★★2022-06-16

The clinic only provides virtual appointments for the medical weight loss program. I started the medical weight loss program in 2018, and it was wonderful; then, the pandemic began in 2020. I gained weight the same year from being sedentary, and the office stopped seeing patients in person. Since 2020 keeping weight off has been difficult. I need one-on-one help, and Stanford provided that for me when I started my weight loss journey. At the beginning of the pandemic, I understand closing the office. However, it’s 2022, and in a few months will be 2023. It’s time to open the clinic with COVID precautions like every other place in the Bay Area. COVID isn’t going anywhere, and I’m surprised that an elite university hospital like Stanford can’t figure out how to navigate in-person appointments. Every doctor's and dentist's office I visit sees patients face to face with no issue. Virtual appointments are a disservice to patients that struggle with weight issues and need in person support.

Ridiculously expensive, first consultation itself was a$1000! If I spent $1000 on a nutritionist I’d do better

I received my Gastric bypass in the summer of 2010, my Dr & surgeon was Dr. Homero Rivas. He was a very kind doctor and always made me feel positive about myself. I would really recommend him if you’re interested in getting any type of Gastric surgery for weight loss when the weight is effecting or causing other medical problems.
