She was okay at first but then went against the surgeons orders post thyroidectomy. The treatment plan discussed included radioactive iodine to eradicate any remaining cancer cells. She refused. Now, 5 years late I have cancer again. This was preventable. This doctor is NOT trauma informed. She was unwilling to read a document provided or learn about medical PTSD. She also was unwilling to discuss medication interactions with my neurologist - they both worked for UTSW. In short, her care is inconsistent amongst patients.

Dr Tumyan is an exceptional physician, she is smart, caring, dedicated and spends the time with her patients. I was very skeptical about telemedicine (even though I am a physician myself) when these type of visits started back in the pandemic and she was able to diagnose me within the first 10 minutes of my visit. She has been very supportive since my diagnosis. She always takes extra time to ensure I am doing well. Her personalized care, her office staff and are things I am so thankful for.

It took one and half months to just get my information over the this doctor’s office. I talked to Carol severals times about receiving my information. Each time I did exactly what she said, however each time the documents are not received. So, last time I spoke to her I asked to speak to the office manager. Wow, then what a surprise they got my documents. Now for the bad news, you get to wait 6 months for an appointment (7 1/2 month wait for me). What a joke and waste of time for addressing someone health issues!

First visit today. I waited for 6 months to see her and worth the wait. She was very informative, made me feel very comfortable and answered all my questions She formed a great treatment plan. Thank you Dr. Tumyan.

Initially is was tough to get a specialist appointment with her. She was highly suggested to be extremely knowledgeable. I have a variety of specialists I see and I was very pleased. It appeared she was on a "time schedule". But overall she took thorough time listening and explaining to me and my family who accompanied me. She heard what I didn't want and she agreed with me as a patient. And not just wanting to push with medication. When she provided me with lab results, she explained. To where I understood what they ment. I highly recommend her. I felt like she cared as a provider to patient. Not just another dx patient. Glad to have her as my specialist.
